On Friday February 28th the Fort Worth community gathered at the Fort Worth Club to honor one of their own. Ramon Romero has been elected as the Chair of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus in the Texas House of Representatives.

State Representative

The University of Texas at Arlington’s Director of Government Relations hosted the event. Those in attendance included local elected officials, business, and community leaders. I was there at the invitation of Mr. Martin Lujan Director of Government Relations. I accepted invitation as LULAC Council 4568 as council president and as Hola Texas publisher.

After people had a chance to catch up with friends and associates, Mr. Romero spoke to the well-wishers. He was as always gracious and thankful to all in attendance and for those that had provided advice and guidance in his life. Which included a special thanks to his parents for providing him with a positive and supportive foundation.

He went on to say that this may be a challenging time in state government, but he promised to work as hard as possible for the people he proudly represents. He has shown reliability that justifies trusting his statements. Regrettably, in contrast to many politicians.

In closing I would like to publicly congratulate Mr. Romero on behalf of the members of LULAC Council 4568.
