This week El Donald again became the president of this our United States of America. For possibly half this La Genta (folks) it was a horrible nightmare repeated. For the other Id say maybe 30/35 percent they are ecstatic and ready to shove their Trump flag in your face. And I tell who is really happy the 1,500 Jan. 6th criminals that he (Trump) pardoned on his first day.

El Donald

Ill tell who is not happy about that, the police officers that were harmed, their families and all that believe in the rule of law. Also think about the family members and friends that did their civic duty and turned them into law enforcement. In fact, the one of the most indefensible of the criminals (the horned one), said I’m ready to buy some F* guns. I firmly believe these people will commit more crimes maybe even more as Trumps’ goon squad. Cause why not? Rember the Supreme Court has now given Trump a pass to do what the H he wants. And his joke of a cabinet will be full of “Yes” men and women that will allow him to do just that.

Closer to home I will be attending a community meeting on Thursday of this week to address local issues that affect our community. In addition, as it is hosted by the local Cesar Chavez committee it will include planning this year’s celebration. Which leads me to ask, “Why don’t more folks show up?”
The event has been going on for at least 20 years and that has been a recurring problem. That said some years have been better than others but recently it has not been good. Some say that they did not know about the event, some say too early, too late, some even say why are we honoring Julio Cesar Chavez? He was a great boxer, but do we need to celebrate that?

Whatever the issue or problem we need to fix and I for one would be open to any suggestions. This year I believe it is even more important that our community turns out in big numbers. This shows the larger community that we can unite. And honor one of the most iconic heroes in our community who worked tirelessly for all the oppressed and downtrodden. In addition, after the march we can meet and plan how we can work in his name to help our community. I will share more information on all this next week.
Dallas Y Fort Worth will be holding the city council elections on May 3rd. And if you have decided that you will be running this year, you must file now. In Fort Worth you have until 5.00pm February 14th to file, same for Dallas. Pero, if you do, please do for the right reasons, now more than ever we need honest and accessible representation.

Also, for you, the voter, please take the time to vote for the best candidate by learning all you can about all the candidates. And if you can attend a live candidate forum and debate even better. In the coming weeks we will attempt to provide candidate information for our readers both in English and Spanish. Rember all elections have consequences both good and bad, the power to decide is in your hands.
