I wish I had a dollar for every time I threatened not watch the Boys anymore. After last seasons’ playoff loss to Green Bay, I really thought I would finally make good on my threat. Pero every new season brings new hope for most fans even the Cowboy ones.

Then in the first game of the season they beat the Browns 33 to 17, and we all thought the Browns were a good team. Well, we all know now, that win was fools’ gold. Saints come to Jerry World and beat the Boys 44-19, and their fans stage a quick celebration parade after the game. I am a fan of New Orleans parades but did not enjoy this one. Then came the Ravens loss, then they beat a team worse than them, the Giants 20-15.
They then travel to Pittsburg, and we are all bracing for another loss and guess what, they pull out a 20-17 win. And even though the start of the game was delayed due to lighting most stayed up till Midnight to watch the conclusion of the game. This was a fun game to watch and despite some dumb turnovers they hung in there. The Cowboys showed some real resilience and seemed to play like a Real team. This despite missing several key players on defense and on the O line. Oh, and it looked like they had finally found a running game and another receiving target.
Pero then Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the dead) came early to Jerry World in the form of Lions. The Cowboys were a 3-point dog in this game which was generous all things considered. And they did mange the first points (3) but that’s where the good times ended. The Lions then scored at will in fact I think it was 9 straight positions. They even played with their food by getting their linemen involved in getting touches.
If the Lions were looking for revenge for last years weird loss to the boys, “Boy did they get it” and in spades. It was a total beat down and more than that, the Lions laughed at their opponent’s lack of ability to fight back. The game was over before half time, I checked out right before. I could not stand to look any longer, it was too painful.
Which brings me back to the title of this article, after this game I felt like I needed a support group. Maybe this time I won’t’ watch anymore this season but I need help I can’t’ do it on my own. It reminds of a line in the 2005 movie Broke Back Mountain “I don’t’ know how to quit you” (not that I ever watched it) Oh, almost forgot, can we get rid of Daks’ “Here we go” cadence I admit it was kinda cool at first, now its just sounds STUPID. Whos’ with me?
