I watched the impeachment hearing. I was dumbfounded to see the Republicans stand up time after time and read the same chapter one of the same book. The title of Chapter 1, was Lies, Lies, Lies. There was no Chapter 2.

It was tribal warfare at its worst. Dumb droves headed by the chief drove. If this was a kangaroo court, the Republicans were the kangaroos (AKA Mob). The Mob came to fight, holler, and scream they were there to make a mockery out of the whole process and they succeeded. They made fools out of themselves.
If these guys were college graduates, they all must have had mail order college degrees. If you wanted to see fools in action, all you had to do was watch the impeachment. They were there to say one thing, “Trump did not do it.” We used to call these folks, educated idiots.
An argument that Republicans make incessantly is that 63 million people elected Trump. That he represents the will of the people. Seems like Hillary Clinton took 67 million votes. Three million more. Trump was elected by the electoral college where he took more votes. He was not elected by the majority of voters. He does not represent the will of the majority voters.
The impeachment now goes to the senate. The Mob will now be in charge. We have already been told that Trump is running the show. Graham and McConnell say they want a very short trial and that Trump will not be removed from office. This is what Republicans consider a fair, impartial and non-partisan trial.
The head drove of the senate has spoken. This will by a short gathering. There may not be a trial. He is allowing the White House to run the show. Trump has so much control over the Republican Party that it may now be called, The Drove Party. The Republicans are doing what they accused the Democrats of doing, being partisan. The Republicans are playing a game of pretend. . Pretend Trump did nothing wrong
Trump is under the belief that the Senate is going to exonerate him. Wrong. The Senate will only decide if he should be removed from office. There is a reason for this. The House did the investigating. Based on their investigation they found him guilty of two articles which violated the constitution. The impeachment remains forever a blot on his presidential record.
If the Senate Republicans do not vote to remove, this will be Step 1, on America’s journey to a dictatorship. Step 2 will be the Supreme Court ruling sometime next year which will decide if Trump is truly immune from all prosecution while in office.
All presidential candidates should stop their campaigning until after the impeachment vote. Instead they should go out and educate the public on the meaning of an impeachment. Warren and Sanders should stop their push for Medicare for all. We must understand that the American people at the moment are fixated on the impeachment. This is no time for campaigning. Especially Medicare for all an idea that many Americans dislike.

You cannot change the minds of Trump, Republicans, Fox News and those Americans that do not want Trump removed. These folks are in denial. Those that want Trump removed from
office must do a massive media blitz to convince Americans that Trump is a threat to our American democracy. Those politicians that support Trump are likewise a threat to our American democracy.
I attended a performance of some very young children showing off their dancing and singing skills. I thoroughly enjoyed the program of Kindergarten, lst and 2d graders. It was a very diversified group. As I looked at the children I kind of concluded that they came from well to do parents. I wondered what their future would be like. Certainly, the future for these children will be completely different than ours.
I recall Trini Lopez singing this song:
“This land is your land this land is my land from California to the New York island, from the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters, this land was made for you and me.”
Trini Lopez reminds us that there is one America. As hard as Trump may try to create a Trump America, he will fail. It is up to our two senators to man up and do what is right for America.
This should be a wakeup call to all White Nationalists and White Supremacist that you cannot turn back the clock. America is multi-ethnic, multi-racial and it will remain that way. America belongs to all of us. Regardless of race, color or national origin. We are all Red, White and Blue. Trump is not going to change that. Lies will never replace the truth.
