Cada 17 de marzo se celebra el día de San Patricio, el santo irlandés que trajo el evangelio a Irlanda. Ese día la gente se viste de color verde, usa tréboles decorativos o se disfraza de duende. Se dice que el primer desfile se organizó por españoles en San Agustín, Florida, en 1601. Pero no solo los irlandeses esperan esta fecha importante, sino medio mundo, en especial Estados Unidos. San Patricio es celebrado por muchos aunque no sean de origen irlandés con grandes desfiles y mucha cerveza.

La diversión es para todos desde el más pequeño hasta el más grande. Este año en el área de Dallas-Fort Worth, las celebraciones serán del 11 al 18 de marzo. Toda la familia podrá participar en maratones y desfiles desde su ciudad. Estos son algunos eventos locales a los cuales puedes asistir.
En Dallas, la celebración comenzará con concursos de comida y juegos, como el de encontrar la olla de oro, que se llevará a cabo en el centro de eventos Mar Thoma el 11 de marzo.

Every March 17 we celebrate St. Patrick, the Irish saint who brought the gospel to Ireland. On this day people dress in green, wear decorative clovers or dress up as leprechauns.
It is said that the first parade was organized by Spaniards in San Agustin, Florida, in 1601. But not only the Irish await this important date, but also the whole world, especially the United States. Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated by many who are not of Irish origin with large parades and lots of beer.

From youngest to oldest, the fun is for everyone, and you don’t have to go to Ireland to participate. This year in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the celebrations will be March 11-18.
