For more years then that I have been able to keep up with Pancho Santa’s’ nephew from the South has been visiting lucky children in Fort Worth. His appearance is part of the annual Tree of Hope-Arbol de la Esparnza Christmas program. Which has been sponsored by LULAC Council 4568 program for well over twenty-five years.
The program involves a party for the children and their parents, complete with pastries, orange juice and coffee for the adults. In addition, all children leave with a bag of fruit courtesy of our friends at Ben E. Keith. We also provide free children’s books both in English and Spanish to encourage reading during Christmas break.
This year a special book will be given to all the children titled ‘Pancho and Navidad Surprise’. As I mentioned before Pancho has been visiting Fort Worth for over twenty-five years. This year the children will learn about the Pancho origin story and why Santa chose him to help deliver Christmas to all the children in the South. They will learn about young Pancho and his cousins, his commitment to help others even at a young age. Even the day that his Tio (Uncle) Santa blessed him with the honor of visiting children in the south, especially in Fort Worth.
The public will be invited to join LULAC Council 4568 members and friends on December 5th at 5.00pm for a Happy Hour Meet and a Greet for Pancho and friends. Please see the event flyer below for complete information.
