To quote the late Joan Rivers, “Can we talk?” Wow! What a great match up we have this weekend with Prescott vs Mahomes and Diggs vs Hill and so on and so on.

Unfortunately, Americas team will play without number one WR Amari Cooper who was just put on covid-19 protocol and may even miss the Thanksgiving game against the Raiders. This will give Lamb the chance to cement himself as the Cowboys true number one receiver, and for the record, I still think it is Cooper. K.C. is off to a slow start by their standards but Mahomes still leads the N.F.L. in most passing categories and they are in first place in their division.

So, are you nervous about this game? Strangely enough I am not to worried about it. Even with the loss of Cooper and key guys on the defensive line, the next man up mentality is finally real with this team not just coach speak, (cough, cough) Jason Garett. Jerry Jones or should I say Coach Jones said there would be line up changes on the offensive line this Sunday. One thing is for sure, under Coach McCarthy this team is always looking to improve rather than be a slave to the “process” and that is a good thing.

A major key to this game will be patience, Kellen Moore needs to keep calling running plays and Dak needs to take what the defense gives so by the time the fourth quarter rolls around our offense will be the ones dictating what is given or shall I say, taken. On the other side of the ball, they must create pressure! Remember the Super Bowl? That was the Bucs key to becoming champions. Mahomes is an ultra-confident QB, as he should be. So, my thought is he will go after Diggs often and all we hear from the talking heads is Diggs can be had on double moves, but not this Sunday because this young man is going to play disciplined, and the interceptions will happen. These Cowboys believe in themselves and if they end up the losing end of the stick Sunday, I believe they will move forward because they have a bigger goal in mind, if you know what I mean, which I know that you do. Yes, this is an important game but will not define this season or this team.

Over the years these two teams have had memorable close games. Does anyone remember the day in K.C. that Miles Austin became a star or the Chiefs scoring the wild TD right before halftime a few years ago? Of course, everyone knows the Chiefs used to be the Texans from Dallas but as we all know, the Dallas Cowboys won over the city. I wish they would have gone down to the old Sportatorium and had a “loser leaves town match.” I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and to have fun with family and friends watching these two games in the span of four days. God Bless.
