Judge o Hare and Commissioner Manny Ramirez have started their “Big Lie” in Tarrant County. The lie that the districts are unfairly drawn to benefit Democrats is being perpetrated in the press and at commissioner court meetings primarily by Manny Ramirez and with the support of Judge O Hare. Lying has become a common practice amongst Republicans who will make up any falsity to get their way. This time, these lies are going to take away the voting power, essentially stealing the voices of Hispanic voters in Tarrant County.
In my previous article, “What is Gerrymandering?”, I outlined the definition of Gerrymandering and how Republican commissioners in Tarrant County and Judge O Hare are wielding their power to remap the districts before the 2026 elections in favor of their party. To further their efforts, Republican commissioners have retained The Public Interest Legal Foundation to help facilitate their interests. Lets ook at the “rap sheet” for The Public Interest Legal Foundation. First, PILF (The Public Interest Legal Foundation) filed a lawsuit in October 2017 against Pennsylvania, demanding their voter records be released and claiming over 100,000 non-citizens were registered to vote. The same was done in California, North Carolina, and even Harris County, Texas. These lawsuits are only filed to further the lie that thousands of immigrants are voting, and in their strange fantasy, immigrants are voting against their master- Trump. PILF also has its sights set on mail-in ballots. On their website, PILF propagates lie after lie; according to PILF, “Vote by mail is the worst way to run an election. In 2020, it led to chaos and disenfranchisement. Election officials do not know what happened to nearly 15 million mail ballots in 2020”. Their website is filled with lies, fear-mongering, and racist allegations of voter fraud. Their only interest is to disenfranchise non-white voters and to cast doubt on our voting system. This is who Captain Hook and Mr. Smee- I mean Judge O Hare and Manny Ramirez have retained to help them gerrymander their way into the 2026 election.
Manny Ramirez thinks he can pat Latino voters on the head like dogs by voting yes for a proclamation honoring the 25th anniversary of the Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta Committee of Tarrant County then turns around and joins ranks with Judge O Hare and The Public Interest Legal Foundation to steal the votes and voices of Latinos. It is time to fight back against Republicans like O Hare and Manny Ramirez. It is easy to get distracted by Donald Trump and his nonsense, but we have our clowns right here in Tarrant County that need to be voted out!
How do we fight back? The answer is and will always be – VOTE and register others to do the same! Support lawmakers who want to protect voting rights, not destroy them. Vote for someone who will defend our constitution and democracy.
