En tiempos de mucho estrés y conflicto, a veces es bueno dar para devolverle a la comunidad y ayuda a los que necesitan ayuda. Ayudar a los demás es bueno tanto para el que ayuda como para el que recibe la ayuda. Best Buddies es una organización internacional dedicada a hacer emparejamientos con miembros de una comunidad con contrapartes que tienen discapacidades del desarrollo o intelectuales (IDD).

            Best Buddies empezó en 1989 por Anthony Kennedy Shriver en la Universidad de Georgetown. Shriver reconoció la potencia de estudiantes de universidad para ayudar gente con IDD (“Anthony K. Shriver”). Hoy en día la organización cubre todo el mundo. Secciones de Best Buddies son en escuelas universidad a escuela intermedia. Hay tambien secciones regionales. Por eso, hay un grupo de Best Buddies en UNT. 

Best Buddies UNT es una organización muy activa. Estudiantes de UNT se pueden conectar por correo electrónico (bbuddiesunt@gmail.com) o teléfono (210-793-3923) (“Best Buddies”). Estudiantes de otras escuelas pueden usar el sitio bestbuddies.org para encontrar un grupo en tu área. El grupo de UNT tiene el almuerzo de compañeros cada martes y miércoles. Este es un evento de amistad y socialización. El gran evento próximamente es la Caminata de la Amistad. La Caminata es un evento para recaudar fondos y aumentar la conciencia. El evento empieza Abril 30 a las diez de la mañana en Farmers Branch, Texas (“Best Buddies Friendship Walk”). La Caminata es un evento para el Norte de Texas.

                                    Best Buddies es una organización internacional con un legado de ayuda para gente con IDD. Si eres un estudiante o ciudadano y quieres ayudar visita los sitios nacional o local para más información. Apoyando la comunidad y los menos afortunados enriqueces el mundo y por conexion tu mismo. Ayúdate a ti mismo ayudando a otros.

In times of high stress and conflict, it is sometimes good to give back to the community and help those who need help. Helping others is good for both the one helping and the one receiving the help. Best Buddies is an international organization dedicated to matching community members with counterparts who have intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD).

Best Buddies was started in 1989 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver at Georgetown University. Shriver recognized the power of college students in helping people with IDD (“Anthony K. Shriver”). Today the organization covers the whole world. Chapters of Best Buddies can be found in schools from universities to middle schools. There are also regional chapters. For that, there is a Best Buddies group at UNT. 

Best Buddies UNT es una organización muy activa. Students from UNT can connect to join via email (bbuddiesunt@gmail.com) or phone (210-793-3923) (“Best Buddies”). Students from other schools can use bestbuddies.org to find a group in their area. The UNT group has “buddy lunch” every Tuesday and Wednesday. This is an event of friendship and socialization. The next big event coming up is the Friendship Walk. The Walk is an event to raise funds and awareness. It begins on April 30, 2022, at 10:00 am in Farmers Branch, Texas (“Best Buddies Friendship Walk”). The Walk is an event for all of North Texas.
